Amos Ben-Tal – The Bone Algorithm
Choreographer Amos Ben-Tal and his collective OFFprojects were House Guests at The Grey Space. Under the title OFFsessions, they opened up their creative process to the public. During OFFsessions #3, visitors were invited to explore fragments of The Bone Algorithm, an interdisciplinary project that investigates the relationship between technology and human movement. The work combines dance, kinetic installations, and music, and questions how technology influences our ways of being.
During HOOGTIJ, the audience was able to move through the installation in which the performance later took place, followed by an artist talk. The evening concluded with a lineup of three DJs curated by Amos Ben-Tal.
Amos Ben-Tal is an Israeli choreographer and performer based in the Netherlands. He is the founder and artistic director of OFFprojects, an interdisciplinary dance collective that creates performances at the intersection of movement, music, visual art, and technology. Ben-Tal’s work is known for its experimental approach and often explores how contemporary systems, such as algorithms, digital culture, and social structures, shape human behavior and physical presence. His projects are presented internationally in theatres, festivals, and art spaces, where he frequently opens up his creative process to dialogue with audiences and collaborators across disciplines.
House Guests is a program in which The Grey Space invites transdisciplinary makers who actively seek collaborations with other knowledge domains and are willing to share their artistic process and test a prototype of a project with an audience. The program facilitates the interaction between a work, the space and the audience, often operating in between a black box and white cube. Each House Guest has a week-long mini-residency, culminating in a public event.
The House Guest residency program is supported by the Municipality of The Hague and Creative Fund NL
