Moving Downstairs (2021–2022)

Where concerts and performances, immersive sound pieces, collective experiences, and clubbing push the boundaries of our basement.

Moving Downstairs is a reoccurring program with concerts and performances, immersive sound pieces, collective experiences and clubbing in the basement of The Grey Space. Depending on the setting, the audience might be seated, standing, dancing, behind a screen or moving through the space. For each edition The Grey Space invites a different guest curator.

Music is a tool for communication and at The Grey Space, we seek to enhance the interaction with the audience. Every guest curator takes their own spin on this through presenting their own concept and inviting particular musical artists.

Moving Downstairs

Below, you can find an overview of all of our editions of Moving Downstairs throughout 2021 and 2022.

2022

In 2022, five editions of Moving Downstairs took place, each with a different curator. Our curators were: Paulina Trzeciak, Vox supreme, Hala Namer, Yota Morimoto, and Loma Doom.

2021

Our Moving Downstairs editions from 2021 differ from our 2022 editions as we had not implemented the concept of guest curators yet. Also, as these editions happened in the midst of the pandemic, corona measures limited our desired programming. However, all of the 2021 editions were live-streamed and thus possible to experience and enjoy from home.
