After three successful editions, PrinsjesNach returns this year! On the eve of Prinsjesdag, Monday 14 September, dozens of venues across The Hague city centre will host live performances by local bands and musicians. There is no other night of the year when so much music from The Hague can be heard throughout the city centre.
This free musical pub crawl brings together a vibrant mix of genres, breaking through musical boundaries and boxes. From jazz, indie pop and singer-songwriters to world music, spoken word, rock, hip-hop and even classical music, PrinsjesNach showcases the full breadth of The Hague’s music scene.
PrinsjesNach celebrates the quality and diversity of local talent, paying tribute to the musical DNA of The Hague.
20:00–21:00 Writers Unlimited – Women (Re)writing History
Flemish-Polish writer and philosopher Alicja Gescinska opens the evening with a talk on women’s voices in the struggle for freedom. She then joins writer Suzanna Jansen in conversation, diving into history to better understand the present. Singer Danielle Zawadi and spoken word artist Elisabeth Hetherington will also give a first preview of Love, Rewritten, reimagining the well-known love songs of Schumann.
21:10–23:00 Mulatu Listening Bar
Vinyl takes centre stage during this special listening session. DJs and collectors are invited to share their favourite gems and discoveries on a hi-fi sound system, while telling the stories behind the music.
23:30–01:00 NachMis
The final stop of PrinsjesNach: NachMis.
For NachMis, musicians from The Hague come together to experiment and reflect through music, spoken word and everything in between.
For this special edition, Henk & Melle, usually a duo known from Hallo Venray and Smutfish, will take the stage with a full band. Their mesmerising songs will be accompanied by spoken word and performances from Scott Beekhuizen of Prins S. en De Geit and Laurin Nargy of Poezieboys.
A one-off brainwash you won’t want to miss. After the final performances, head to The Grey Space and join us to close out the night.
