SUN//SET is a community-driven DJ initiative based in The Hague, creating accessible spaces where emerging DJs can experiment, gain experience and share music with an audience in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Through an open-call format, SUN//SET invites new DJs to apply for each edition, continuously discovering fresh sounds and emerging artists.
SUN//DOWN is the nighttime extension of the concept. The evening starts upstairs with ambient, lo-fi hiphop, downtempo and other laid-back sounds, before gradually moving into a more energetic, high-tempo club programme in the basement from 22:00 onwards.
The event is organised by five DJs from The Hague, each bringing different musical tastes, backgrounds and experiences to the project. SUN//SET started at EnergieKas, where the organisers came together to create a space that felt open and welcoming, with less emphasis on performance or status.
What began as a series of rooftop sessions has since grown into a wider community of DJs, music lovers and volunteers. The organisers’ different perspectives are an important part of the concept, allowing each edition to move between a variety of sounds and styles while maintaining the recognisable identity and atmosphere of SUN//SET.
