Den Haag-based electronic musician and producer Shook presents Arcana, his new album released on his own label Epicenter. Expect an evening of synths, live electronics and electro, taking you on a journey through the sounds of the record.
The night kicks off with a hands-on synth workshop, followed by a warm-up DJ set by Dim Garden at 20:00. Shook then takes the stage for a solo live performance, joined by vocalist Juliet for the next part of the set. The evening closes with a special joint performance by Shook and Dutch electro pioneer Legowelt.
Jasper Wijnands, better known as Shook, is a Den Haag-based electronic musician, composer and producer. With over a decade of releases behind him, he has developed a distinctive sound that moves between synthesizer funk, city pop, ambient, electro and nu-disco. Drawing inspiration from 70s and 80s synth-pop, disco, funk and futuristic film soundtracks, his music brings together nostalgic sounds and electronic experimentation.
Releasing music independently through his own label, Epicenter, Shook has collaborated with artists including Dutch electro pioneer Legowelt and Japanese house producer Shinichiro Yokota. With Arcana, his latest album, he returns to his early electro roots, exploring darker synth funk, vintage analogue sounds and futuristic rhythms.
