On Thursday 24 September, Crash Event returns to The Grey Space!
This edition gives the stage to poetry, spoken word and short stories, with a special focus on bringing music and poetry together, à la Tiny Desk performances. Led by Damani Leidsman, performers will be accompanied by a live house band during their performance. Think of it as a collective jam session where words and music meet and amplify one another.
Performers decide what their performance looks like: with or without music, with or without a beat. Everything comes together live, in the moment, leaving room to experiment, improvise and create something unique together.
The open mic welcomes anyone looking to take to the stage, as well as those who simply want to listen and show their support. Together, the evening celebrates the many different voices of the city and opens the new season at The Grey Space.
Want to perform? Sign up for the open mic via the form. Prefer to come and watch? Reserve a free ticket via the link.
Het Zwarte Schaap (The Black Sheep) is a platform for spoken literature based in The Hague. It creates space for writers and performers who want to grow, experiment, and share their work with an audience that listens with open hearts. The platform collaborates with anyone who finds a piece of themselves in its name. Visitors are invited to attend the next event and discover stories they have never heard before.
