Image, Texture and Freedom
Hosted by Justice & Peace
In his latest exhibition, Images, Textures, and Freedom, Abecor takes you on a colorful yet confrontational journey through themes of government corruption, media censorship, and the repression of free speech in Bolivia and around the world.
With nearly two decades of experience, Bolivian caricaturist and sculptor Abecor uses humor and satire to explore political and social issues. His cartoons and sculptures powerfully illustrate how images can communicate more than words alone. Focused on themes of people, books, and the love of knowledge, his work delivers a strong message: without access to information, people cannot defend their rights.
Entry times vary. The official opening is at 18:00 (doors open at 17:30) on Wednesday, 16th October.
- Monday till Friday 16.00–20.00
- Saturday 12.00–16.00

Justice & Peace Netherlands is a non-profit human rights organization based in The Hague, dedicated to defending and promoting human rights and social justice globally. The Artists’ Safe Haven initiative is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Founded by Justice & Peace, the Artists’ Safe Haven temporarily relocates international artists who are at risk for promoting human rights. It provides them with a safe space to rest, develop their skills, and connect with an international community of artists and activists. This initiative empowers artists to grow, refine their strategies, and freely create, critique, and share their work without fear of censorship or interference.
