HOOGTIJ #78: New Art on Screen + Oscillations

Fri 27 September
18.30–23.00
Free Entry

Hosted by The Grey Space together with LI-MA, for HOOGTIJ#78

In a joint effort, The Grey Space and LI-MA discover how technology can be used in the artistic proces, how ‘digital thinking’ is made tangible and the consequences of the blurring boundaries between digital and physical.

LI-MA and The Grey Space present new works by established and emerging artists that examine our relationship with Earth. The five featured pieces each offer a unique perspective on our changing planet, encouraging us to consider non-human viewpoints, redefine life and non-life, view landscapes as entities, explore humanity’s dualistic relationship with nature, and acknowledge the ever-present role of birds. A Q&A with artists and LI-MA curator Sanneke Huisman will follow at 20:00.

The Selection
Sébastien Robert, 'Oscillations'

Sébastien Robert (b. 1993, Nantes, FR) is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher whose work bridges visual and sound art, technology, science, and ethnography.

During his House Guest residency, Sébastien Robert continues to develop his project ‘Oscillations’, centered around the trans-Mediterranean instrument: the bagpipe. For this project, he is assisted by contemporary instrument maker Léo Maurel, in collaboration with creative technologist Benjamin Maus.
