Arthur Klaassens, alongside Celia Swart and Vincent van Wijk, takes you on a musical journey from doubt and anxiety to bliss and ecstasy.
‘The Mirror in My Room’ is a theatrical musical performance written by Celia Swart. Lasting a little under 40 minutes, it tells a story about self-criticism, self-reflection, and self-actualization. Using a mirror in the center of the stage, the musicians embark on a journey of discovery.
The program will begin with a short talk, setting the stage and providing background and context for the performance.

Arthur Klaassens is a musician based in The Hague. Classically trained, he seeks ways to connect his background with forward-thinking modes of expression and artistry. Deeply interested in contemporary music, improvisation, and the interface between acoustic and electronic music, he collaborates with composers and artists who share these interests to connect emotionally with his audience. For this performance, he is joined by composer Celia Swart, who also created the staging, and fellow oboist Vincent van Wijk.
