On January 30, a public program will take place, followed by a weekend exhibition on January 31, centering the role of Critical Journalism. In an era of polarized politics, fortified borders, and constant surveillance, the program asks what it means to tell stories that return power to people. The event looks to the margins, not as peripheries, but as sites where essential stories are told. Amplifying voices from the Majority World, occupied and racialized spaces, and Europe’s own fault lines, including its borders, working-class neighborhoods, and overlooked racialized communities. It foregrounds voices that challenge the center and reveal what power obscures, erases, and silences, underscoring why critical storytelling matters more than ever.
The Contrapuntal is an independent non-profit publication devoted to delivering rigorously researched, accessible, and factually accurate journalism from a ground-up perspective. They seek to publish people-centric stories, explained in a strikingly clear manner.
The Contrapuntal addresses issues of Political Economy, Migration, Ecology, and Culture through a critical and interdisciplinary approach, bringing together diverse perspectives. These themes are emphasized as critical lenses because they broadly shape the political contours of the contemporary world.
