The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend
For the fourth year The Hague Contemporary – together with its partners – showcases The Hague’s contemporary art field through an exciting program of 20+ partners and additional events. The event connects galleries, project spaces, museums and art institutions with the local community as well as art professionals.
The Grey Space is one of the main venues of The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend. The Hague Contemporary invited Mike Megens and Sid Dankers to present their project ‘Facing non-objects, can we still run?’ at The Grey Space throughout the weekend. On Thursday The Grey Space organises a special edition of the Thursday Dinner Session. On Saturday the Manifestation Vrije Academie-Psychopolis opens at The Grey Space.
From a radical attempt to question and engage with different generations of visual culture, Sid Dankers and Mike Megens previously facilitated a 72-hour live stream, ‘Live Streaming: A Radical Approach’. The work provided both a space in the form of a livestream studio as well as an opportunity for experimentation and collaboration with other artists. There was a constant movement between layers of contexts, structure, technique, role assignment, and performativity.
For The Hague Contemporary Art Weekend, the concept of a structure that is predetermined will be revised. Concepts like the conservation and preservation of art will be put into practice through physical actions and mobile interventions. The emphasis will now lie on relating to a more static situation from which a performative attitude is formed, relating to different locations in The Hague.

- Dinner is served on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
- Between 18:30 and 21:00, cafe and terrace are open between 16:00-22:00.
