Presented by The Grey Space

The Grey Space opens up its HyperGarden to the public.

Expect two days of urban gardening, visions of healthy and edible cityscapes and design experiments and artistic installations by Jonathan Looman, Yota Morimoto, Beer van Geer and Industrial Product Design students of the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences during this second Open Garden Weekend (Struinen in Haagse Tuinen).

Mutual Symbiosis II

Once every two years during Open Garden Weekend (Struinen in Haagse Tuinen), The Hague’s gardeners open their gardens which are normally closed to visitors.

Join us on Saturday and Sunday for a tranquil exploration of the vertical garden. On Sunday a number of collective projects will be presented.

On both days you can experience (((Resonate))) by composer, sound artist and researcher Yota Morimoto in collaboration with media artist Beer van Geer and multidisciplinary designer and gardener Jonathan Looman. This permanent sonic installation uses sensing technology, edge computation and an auditory display system to observe the garden sonically. For example by visualising the garden’s response (conductivity) to the changing weather conditions (light, temperature, moisture). Can we be more empathetic and build a relationship with the inanimate soil life and plants?
