Artist Constant Dullaart is developing a new work entitled Studio Dull as part of his three-month Open Space residency at The Grey Space. Like no other, Constant Dullaart plays with the notion of what a medium is and searches for the human origins of technological phenomena and structures. With his often political approach, he makes us reconsider what we as users and consumers have become blind to. Studio Dull focuses on the authorship that is hidden in tools in the form of a hybrid broadcasting station.
During Museumnacht the second public event takes place in the context of Studio Dull. Studio Dull can be visited as an installation, through which a special edition will be broadcasted. Listen to the lawyer who obtained the first restraining order in the Netherlands, a hairdresser about his new way of cutting hair and the tools he designed for this purpose, and a farmer who redesigned her farm using open-source tools. In the meantime you can discover more about Dullaart’s research, while Dullaart himself will be there to answer any questions you may have.
Design collective Ant Eye presents ‘Printer says NO!’. Believing in the human characteristics of objects Ant Eye brings printers to life in their performance.
Artist Gemma Luz Bosch explores the boundaries of music using selfmade instruments in her performance ‘The Sound of Clay’.
We’re closing the night with The Hague-based DJs Some Saturn and Mul/ANNA in our basement.
Some Saturn starts off with a solid but surprising set. Expect a dreamy, banging, and breaky set.
mul/ANNA is always digging for dirty-ass ghetto house/electro with hints of (old school) hip-hop. She switches fast between different genres which keeps you energetic and awake.
This event is only accessible with a Museumnacht wristband. More than 30 museums and cultural institutions will open their doors for the Museumnacht visitors, all accessible with a single ticket. Check museumnachtdenhaag.nl for more information and ticket prices.
