The Grey Space x CTM Festival x SHAPE

Thu 24 March
20.30–23.00
Free Entry

In collaboration with CTM Festival and SHAPE

The Grey Space collaborates with Berlin’s CTM Festival for adventurous music and art and the European SHAPE platform to present a music performance by Audrey Chen. The evening will conclude with a DJ-set by Grittygun.

Program

Using her voice and analog electronics, Audrey Chen’s work delves deeply into her own version of narrative and non-linear storytelling. A large component of her music is improvised, un-processed and her approach is extremely personal and visceral.

Grittygun can often be found selecting and stacking records at local record store 3345.

Partners

Berlin’s CTM Festival supports an open, networked, mutually-collaborative, global music culture through its yearly festival for adventurous music and art as well as countless collaborative and research initiatives, co-commissions, concerts, and other constantly-evolving formats. The 20 year-old festival stands out for its conscious pairing of daring artistic content and adventurous club experiences with an in-depth discourse programme, framing today’s sounds and music cultures within a shifting, hybrid global society.

SHAPE is a platform for innovative music and audiovisual art from Europe. It consists of 16 festivals and art centres and aims to support, promote and exchange innovative and aspiring musicians and interdisciplinary artists with an interest in sound. SHAPE attempts to present a variety of idiosyncratic music and sonic art from all over Europe, and provide audiences and professionals with insightful lectures, talks and workshops by experts in various fields related to sound and performance. Each year 48 artists and musicians are selected to participate in a mix of live performances, residencies, workshops and talks across festivals and special events. SHAPE is a three-year initiative, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
