Jazz Weekend The Hague: Alexander Beets Quintet + Duckpin Bowling Alley

Sun 11 December

Jazz platform ‘Podium De Nieuwe Kamer’, which focuses on The Hague-based musicians, presents a double concert at The Grey Space for Jazz Weekend The Hague.

The program features two jazz groups; Alexander Beets Quintet and Duckpin Bowling Alley, both made up of two brothers, besides other renowned names. Expect explosive sounds and bebop-inspired saxophone.

Alexander Beets Quintet

Beets is a famous name in jazz: tenor powerhouse Alexander Beets has garnered international acclaim over the past few decades with his unmistakable swing. Paying tribute to the legends who have inspired him over the years, his latest release features original compositions and old favorites.

Duckpin Bowling Alley

A one-of-a-kind musical collaboration between the two brothers Marco and Wim Kegel. Wim is one of the most prominent drummers in the Netherlands, and uniquely approaches the traditional way of drumming in a contemporary manner.  Marco, a section leader with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, is an alto jazz saxophonist, besides playing the flute and clarinet.
