Hosted by The Grey Space together with Lou Vives, for HOOGTIJ #85
Tanto y Más marks the outcome of Lou Vives’ spring residency at The Grey Space — a period of research and production in which he has deepened and reoriented his artistic practice.
The mural draws on the evacuation of a Spanish museum: fragments that emerge and dissolve, the lingering presence of what cannot be fully removed. Working with processes of decay and restoration, Vives explores the silent afterlives of museum collections — the shifting conditions under which artworks are preserved, displaced, or recontextualized.
At the heart of the work is the notion of accidentia: the incidental and the contingent, and its entanglement with lived experience and artistic form. The mural becomes a site where images act not as fixed representations, but as stages for transformation — continuously negotiating between loss, memory, and reinvention.
As part of the festive opening, visual artists and writers António Manso Preto and Tild Greene offer two performative readings in response to the mural — extending its themes into language and live presence.

During HOOGTIJ, approximately 25 art locations in the city center of The Hague are open from white cube to underground, from established art in the galleries and institutions to experimental art, installations and performances at the artist initiatives. This will therefore be a free event!
