Dinner Session: Julie Kers & Coach Capella + Chaku Chaku & DJ Miss Brown

Sun 30 October
17.00–23.00

Another week, another dinner session. Join us for an inspiring evening carefully balancing delicious food and pleasant tunes.

Please note: this Dinner Session’s dinner is fully reserved.

Inspired by artist Gordon Matta-Clark’s restaurant FOOD, which existed in the 1970s in New York, The Grey Space invites people to come and cook affordable meals as an artistic and social expression during our weekly Dinner Sessions. DJs and live performances will guide the evening musically and make you dance after dinner.

For this Sunday’s Dinner Session, dynamic duo Julie Kers & Coach Capella cook an alkaline vegan dinner, accompanied by high-frequency, impromptu tunes from the band ‘Chaku Chaku’ and DJ Miss Brown.

Menu

Julie Kers & Coach Capella cook a two-course menu that is entirely comprised of plant-based, unprocessed foods. As a starter, they serve bao buns with sticky sesame oyster mushrooms, which is then followed by ramen noodles with mushrooms, roasted fennel, cherry tomatoes, and furikake as a main.

The menu is Alkaline vegan and contains spelt, no wheat, and is both soy and nut free.

Price: €15

This Dinner Session’s dinner is fully booked. However, feel free to come by for a drink and to enjoy the music.

Julie Kers & Coach Capella

Julie Kers is a photographer, marketer, and vegan chef. She loves experimenting and her recipes always surround high-frequency and unprocessed foods. She runs her own business called ‘So Super Vegan’ and has written a vegan Alkaline cookbook called ‘From Scratch’, which is coming out soon. Her partner Coach Capella is a creative entrepreneur and consultant. He has been plant-based for nine years and an Alkaline vegan for the last two.

During the Dinner Session, feel free to have an inspirational chat with Julie for information about the Alkaline Diet, and with Coach, who strives to help others on their health journey, to potentially book a consultation session.

Chaku Chaku

Chaku Chaku is a freewheeling music group that moves on improvisation, frivolous interaction, and brotherly connection. The Hague-based six-piece group will have you swinging on an array of tunes, from country blues to funky jazz, taking you on a journey from psychedelic rock to deep soul. They do not aim to perform, instead they aim to unite and have fun with the listeners.

DJ Miss Brown

Trish Preston, a.k.a DJ Miss Brown, has Jamaican, Spanish, and English roots, and originally ended up in The Netherlands as a professional dancer. She has been a DJ for twenty years and has played at various clubs and parties in both The Netherlands and China. Inspired by Soul, Funk, and Rare-grooves, her music often expands extensively from Jazz to techno.  Due to her dance experience and love for music, she has a unique sense of bringing dance and music together.
