Dead Symbols (South Africa) is a Cape Town–based sound collective exploring the intersection of sound, theory, and Black critical thought through live performance. Following their appearance at Le Guess Who? 2025, they bring their raw, process-driven approach to The Hague, joined by Dutch artists nobuka and Stefan Kollee. Together, they create an evening of improvised sonic dialogue shaped by collaboration, chance, and intensity.
Nobuka
Nobuka puts the punk back in ambient, creating immersive yet unsettling soundscapes that balance warmth and disruption. Moving between experimentalism, modern composition, minimalism, and noise, they work with anything at hand. From guitars and tape recorders to found objects, to build sonic collages from chaos. Their latest album, born from heartbreak and isolation, is a raw and emotional exploration of dissonance, now reimagined live in an intimate setting.
Stefan Kollee
Stefan Kollee creates unpredictable sonic journeys inspired by the sounds that surround him. Using guitars, vocals, percussion, and environmental movement, his work moves between truth, grief, and pleasure, as heard on his debut album Proof of Existence. Kollee has performed at venues and festivals including Rijksmuseum Twenthe, Valkhof Festival, Senses of Change, Vera Groningen, and Doornroosje Nijmegen.
