Step into a world of gastronomic delights, and immerse yourself in the world envisioned by guest curators. Food for Thought is a series of events designed to create a special culinary environment for each edition.

On this first edition of Food for Thought, Mattia Papp invites you along their immersive artistic journey. In a multisensory experience, guests are to enjoy food in the backdrop of breathtaking artificial wilderness, created specifically for this occasion.

Thematically inspired by Edouard Manet’s “Déjeuner sur l’Herbe” (Lunch on the Grass), this culinary performance evokes the painting’s ambiance of outdoor dining in a picturesque setting. The Orchard further draws inspiration from the myths of satyrs and nymphs bathing together in the forest, adding to the whimsical and ethereal atmosphere.

Mattia’s culinary creations are meticulously prepared and presented with an artistic flair, immersing guests in an ethereal forest known as “radura” where their senses are delightfully blurred. The food design performance is complemented by an immersive atmosphere and incorporates interactive elements such as cooking demonstrations and tastings.
Program + Menu

Dishes served at the event are a reflection of the overarching theme, and feeds into the idea of getting nourishment from the Earth. The menu consists of locally sourced and organic ingredients, with an emphasis on fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. A la “Déjeuner sur l’Herbe”, guests relax and enjoy their meals on blankets and cushions amongst the trees and flowers.

Mattia Papp

Mattia Papp is a Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) graduate whose practice is defined through strong material and narrative research and expressed through a variety of techniques and mediums. Food is integral to their research, as it is seen to hold a power to gather people together, and to give out beauty in a sinesthetic way.

Diverging from our regular Dinner Sessions, this performative dinner series empowers selected artists to redefine the boundaries of food as an artistic medium. Join us in this flavorful exploration, where food becomes a canvas for creativity and connection.
