Dinner Session: Marta Ceccarelli + Tonya Bialobrzeska
Acting as an alternative to the common restaurant, The Grey Space presents a three course meal every Sunday. Creative dishes emerge from the on site kitchen-studio to our dining space. New chefs create different meals for a different audience, made exclusively for each event.
This weeks chefs are Marta Ceccarelli and Tonya Bialobrzeska. They met through music, and have both worked in the food industry for the past few years to support them through their studies in Amsterdam, specifically baking cakes for events. Tonya was born in Poland and worked in a fine dining restaurant in Warsaw. She is now a cook at the Rietveld Academy’s Canteen. Marta is from Italy and learned to cook from her mother. She’s worked as a professional chef for the past year. Both Tonya and Marta are guided by the traditions of their country of origin, elevating family recipes and taking inspiration from the varied Amsterdam culinary environment.

The concept of our Dinners Sessions is inspired by Gordon Matta-Clarks’ artist-run restaurant FOOD, a project founded in New York in the 1970s. We encourage anyone with an interest in food and a talent for hosting to apply to our Dinner Session’s ongoing Open Call. Not as an exclusionary process; any person who believe can fill around 30 stomachs, is welcome as chef for the night.
