The Grey Space in the Middle announces its new open call for a group exhibition, organised by our guest curator Balázs Milánik.

The exhibition explores the concept of memory through a politico-technological lens, engaging with topics such as digital remembrance, the passage of time, relevance decay, and haunting history along the way. We will select five artists with a focus on spatial and installation based works, from our broad community, to delve into these inquiries, embracing internationalism and strengthening the bonds of diversity.

Anyone can apply who is between 18 and 30 years old and is not enrolled into an educational (art) program with a finished piece that resonates with the keywords: technology, memory politics, perish, rebirth, forgetting, fake news, false narratives, falsified history, growth, digital propaganda – analogue truth.

The selected artists will be provided with an appropriate monetary fee of 375 euros and are invited to participate in a weekend-long exhibition in January.

You can apply by filling out this form before midnight on November 24. The form asks for:

— A 500 word maximum description of the artwork.
— Maximum 10 images of the exhibition piece.
— In case of moving image / sound being included in the piece, we request the attachment of recordings.
— A portfolio of the artist.
— A link to Instagram / Website.

Let us remember to forget and forget to remember!
