A Not So Wasted Evening

Thu 7 September
17.30–23.00
Entry is free, dinner is €10

Presented by WASTELAND

Ahead of WASTELAND’s return to The Grey Space later this year, the collective is hosting a kick-off event. This evening aims to explore waste from both common and uncommon perspectives. The evening will be the opportunity to become acquainted with this year’s festival theme and meet all the new team members.

With the festival approaching rapidly, WASTELAND wants to share what they have been working on over the past year and what you can expect from WASTELAND 2023: Streams of Waste. ‘A not-so-wasted evening’ is the official kick-off event of 2023.

The “Wasted Dinner” will feature a special three-course menu prepared by the collective Wasteland, using vegetables rescued from the Haagse Markt. Following the dinner, there will be a storytelling and sharing experience led by the poetic collaborators Words on the Page. Finally, the event will conclude with the performance “Sáof” created by composer, performer, and researcher Liza Kuzyakova. Her work explores sonic deconstruction, the history of sound in instrumental space, and the traces and distortions of material.
