Dinner Session: Filomena & George + DjDj

Sun 25 September
17.00–23.00

Another week, another dinner session. Join us for an inspiring evening carefully balancing delicious food and pleasant tunes.

Inspired by artist Gordon Matta-Clark’s restaurant FOOD, which existed in the 1970s in New York, The Grey Space invites people to come and cook affordable meals as an artistic and social expression during our weekly Dinner Sessions. DJs will guide the evening musically and make you dance after dinner.

This Sunday’s Dinner Session Filomena & George prepare dinner, while DjDj (Hendrik Hohlfeld) is responsible for the tunes.

Menu

Filomena and George cook a meal that is centered around knotty bread which is then to be pulled apart and eaten with an array of dripping and flooding vegan and vegetarian dishes, and a dessert of falling-to-pieces cake (with a vegan alternative). Slightly experimental, they ask you to get ready to use your hands and be messy.

Price: €13

Filomena & George

Filomena and George are partners in friendship and mischief with a combined lifetime of varying food service experience. Filomena is a KABK student and vaguely an artist and George is a musician and vaguely a student in London. They both exist in romances with poetry and will nearly always choose what is beautiful over what is practical. They have been cooking together whenever they had the chance, since meeting in Budapest years ago and falling in melancholic love.

DjDj

DjDj (Hendrik Hohlfeld) fell in love with mixing around 15 years ago.  In his free time, DjDj is a producer and musician under many different aliases and initiatives. For this Dinner Session, DjDj will effortlessly explore an eclectic selection of groovy classics ranging from 60’s funk and electronica, all the way to ’90s breaks and Detroit techno. Enjoy a smooth journey through (dance) music’s varying timbres and styles spawned out of particular societal and technological climates.

DjDj invites you to contribute to the evening’s musical selection, by bringing a USB with mp3 files. He will then copy and analyze the tracks: if they feel right to him, they will enter the mix as played during the evening.
