Baby, I Have Your Back
Hosted by Marina Menéndez-Pidal
With Baby, I Have Your Back, Marina Menéndez-Pidal created a walk to collectively embrace femininity and face the night head on.
The project aims to highlight the challenges faced by women and feminine-presenting people in public spaces, sharing these experiences with trans women, women, feminine-presenting people, and local communities. Since March 2024, Max Oosterholt—walking partner, Aline Papenheim—photographer, and Marina Menéndez-Pidal—designer/artist, have worked across the Netherlands, conducting nighttime walks and documenting the experiences through costumes designed by Laura Fernández Antolin. These costumes embody the emotions and stories that emerge from each walk, reflecting the personal and social transformations encountered along the way.
The walk starts at 21.30 and is free of charge to join.
The doors open at 20.30
Marina Menéndez-Pidal is a designer/artist exploring nightwalking as a creative practice, using design to make services useful. She works at night—alone or with others—treating it as a space for discovery and exploration. Her practice is fueled by curiosity about the night and the everyday, drawing inspiration from encounters and perspectives that arise after dark. Through nightwalking, she challenges conventional perceptions of time and space, deepening her connection to urban landscapes and sparking dialogues that shape her creative process.
