Dinner Session: Lena & Ale + Pablo Paresse
Presented by The Grey Space in the Middle
Another week, another dinner session. Join us for an inspiring evening carefully balancing delicious food and pleasant tunes of the night.
Inspired by artist Gordon Matta-Clark’s restaurant FOOD, which existed in the 1970s in New York, The Grey Space invites people to come and cook affordable meals as an artistic and social expression during our weekly Dinner Sessions. DJs will guide the evening musically and make you dance after dinner.
This week Lena Longefay and Alejandra Lopez Martinez take over the kitchen and they bring Pablo Paresse for the night’s musical outline.
On the menu is a two course dinner influenced by Georges Bras’ Gargouillou, Hildegard von Bingen’s writings and their home grown garden. Lena & Ale will prepare seasonal and local food, resembling a summery and lively garden. As a composition, the guests will be invited to create their own balance of taste and textures.
Expect zucchini, berries, pickles, rhubarb, olives, ferments, crackers, beetroot, and some other garden surprises.
The menu can be made vegan and/or gluten free.

When they cook together, artists Lena Longefay and Alejandra Lopez Martinez are Lena & Ale. Experimenting with fermentation and curious about the different temporalities involved in growing and cooking food, they develop projects around healing and the writings of Hildegard von Bingen viewing their dinners, food installations and events through and ecological and ecofeminist lens. They consider their food as a key for community making, and it is within their friendship that they draw out most of their inspiration.
Besides napping on the shores of the Geneva Lake or in the North Sea dunes, Pablo Paresse is also indulging in his DJ practice and part of the Swiss label CAF?.
