A Grey Space Weekend (2019)

The Grey Space in the Middle proudly introduces A Grey Space Weekend. In the time span of two days the event aims to instigate your doubt, stimulate your imagination and facilitate the unexpected at the intersection of art, science, technology and philosophy.

The program consists of art installations, a performative symposium, music, performances, film screenings, food and drinks. You will experience The Grey Space inside out, from dusk til dawn. Over the weekend current projects are presented and provided with context, network and reflection.

We’re open from 13:00 for you to see Philip Vermeulen’s work and take a breather in Ademruimte (be sure to book a session).

At 17:00 you can sit down for the films curated by WYSIWYG with works by Johann Lurf, Leith Benkhedda, Scott Barley, Valerie van Zuijlen, running until midnight.

From 17:00 we continue with our adventures through the building during When You See Me Again, It Won’t Be Me – Act II: a performative symposium with Anne Nigten, Beer van Geer, Inès Leverrier Péborde, Barbara Visser and Martijn Engelbregt.

The cafe will be open all day and night, food is served from 18:00; get a full plate for just €7,-.

At 21:00 and 21:45 you have the chance to experience the performative installation Study of Solid Geographies by Make Move Think and RNDR.

We’ll close off the first night of A Grey Space Weekend with performances and DJs in the basement: Hilde Wollenstein, Soeria, Anni Nöps, Andy Norström and Val Clipp.

We start the second day at 11:00. After that Ademruimte will be available for a session until 20:00, be sure to book a session in advance.

At 12:00 the workshop basics of OPENRNDR, framework for creative coding (Edwin Jakobs, RNDR) starts, going on til 18:00.

From 13:00 Philip Vermeulen’s work is on display until midnight.

From 17:00 you have a second chance to see the films curated by WYSIWYG with works by Johann Lurf, Leith Benkhedda, Scott Barley, Valerie van Zuijlen, running until midnight.

From 19:30 until early morning the Radio ñ crew soothes your sonic antenna with live performances and DJ’s by Leonie Roessler, FLUQS, tomlaan, North Sea Wolfpack Voertuig, VISÉE, Human Nature & Sintrema.
