The Grey Space reopens with cafe and outdoor terrace

The Grey Space opens again in June as cafe and outdoor terrace!

Opening hours:
Wednesday to Friday 15:00 – 23:00h
Saturday and Sunday 12:00 – 23:00h

“A computer processor is described as idle when it is not being used by any program”

We have been idle in the last months, working on making sure The Grey Space will live and grow beyond these radical times. We are more than ready to leave the idle state. One step at a time. First things first, we want to see all of you again! You are welcome for drinks and bites on our sunny terrace.

We’re also working on a small program of events to present to you in this setting which we hope to announce soon.

13 Mar 2020 – 01 May 2020

The Grey Space closed until further notice

To our audience,
our growing community,

It’s silent.

In correspondence with the guidelines set by the Dutch government to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, all events until June 1st will be postponed. The Grey Space is inevitably empty and will remain closed until further notice.

In 2017 we started building this space inspired by something David Bowie said: “The idea that the piece of work is not finished until the audience comes to it and adds their own interpretation. What the piece of art is about is the grey space in the middle.”

Without our audience and the growing community that you are to us, there is no grey space in the middle. We entered a financially fragile state in which we choose to lay low. Temporarily invisible to all of you. Knowing that we are not alone, that you are all still out there, we imagine what could have been and we fight for what we have built over the past years. Out of sight to all of you, we are here, continuing to grow in this delicate state.

We ask for your patience and regard for your safety and that of the people around you. Also, please consider supporting other people and initiatives during this time in any way you can.

Stay safe and healthy.

On behalf of The Grey Space,
Tim, Marijke and Ramses

We’ll inform you about the continuation of our program here and through our Instagram and Facebook.
